Finally in Australia we are starting to have the debate. This is not rocket science. The only argument against FPT seems to be that we don’t have enough trains and buses to cope. Well put simply, that is something that can be addressed by implementing incremental changes to rolling stock, buses and ferries. Free public transport [...] In Sydney, over the last few months, something has been built. It isn’t something you can touch or something you can see, but nevertheless it now exists. It is the Public Transport Bandwagon. More and more influential people are starting to get on board the bandwagon and the media are even starting to look forward [...] There’s been a great deal said about the federal government’s “myschool” website. The very thought of it has polarised some sections of the community. Personally, as a father of two, the opportunity to “compare” schools is of no interest to me. My kids go to the local public school and that’s not about to change [...] |
