I was asked to remove my original post because it has been interpreted as breaching some rules I said I would follow. It will be reposted on the 27th November 2009.
But I will say this……Diversity in all things is extremely important, be that in the environment, in the population, on the sporting field or in the boardroom. Diversity helps a football team to achieve the goal of winning that elusive Grand Final – a team of forwards can’t do that….you need centres, backs, each with different skills to contribute. This can be said for all manner of pursuits. If society was homogeneous then maybe we could get away with all people thinking the same or having the same background or experience. But society IS NOT homogeneous.
Diversity leads to creativity which in turns helps to solve problems.
